With the invitation to visit InCubo and do studio visits, I responded with project to examine the city through the eyes of the artists and reconsider the traditional format of studio visits. Through InCubo, I arranged 16 ‘studio visits’ as walks throughout Santiago and Valpairiso one hour intervals. Each artist was asked to show me an ‘antimonument’ in the city, however they interpreted it (a nod to Gordon Matta-Clark). At the time of my visit, the former dictator, Pinochet was still alive, and statues and monuments to his regime were quietly being dismantled.
